Inspiration: Stars, Quarks and Jabberwocky

The observable universe contains several hundred billion galaxies, each having several hundred billion stars.

Awareness of this fact makes me look beyond the immediately perceptible world, makes me want to create a visual

representation of this immensity to put things in a new perspective.

With thread as my medium I’m embarking on an endeavor to embroider the spirit of the cosmos. It takes cloth, thread, time, time

and more time and repetition, repetition, repetition.

Quarks, sub-atomic particles at the other end of the dimensional spectrum, are numbered beyond counting. Their names belie their nature. There

are up quarks, down quarks, top quarks, bottom quarks, strange quarks and charm quarks.
